What is AI Hearing Transcript?

AI Hearing Transcript takes a recording of a hearing and returns a speaker-separated draft with timestamps. Each voice is labeled as a separate turn, so testimony, questions from the panel, and public comment can be told apart. The draft supports review and minute-taking; it is not an official or certified record of the proceeding.

Why choose AI Hearing Transcript?

AI Hearing Transcript is built for the shape of a hearing: a panel, a witness, and a sequence of timed statements. Because every turn carries a timestamp, one exchange can be located for a minutes review, a correction request, or an appeal without listening to the whole session again.

Who Has Time to Replay a Four-Hour Hearing for One Exchange?

Hearings run long and are recorded for the record, not for easy listening. Finding the moment a condition was set or a deadline was stated means scrolling through audio, and minutes drafted from memory lose the exact wording. AI Hearing Transcript timestamps every speaker turn, so an exchange can be found, quoted, and checked against the recording before it reaches the minutes or an appeal.

What makes AI Hearing Transcript different?

AI Hearing Transcript keeps the session in order and attributes every statement. Short exchanges and long testimony both stay readable, and a timestamp marks where each one sits in the recording.

How to use AI Hearing Transcript in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Add the hearing recording

Upload the audio or video of the session, or paste a link to a recording that is already hosted.

  2. 2

    Choose language and speaker labels

Set the spoken language and leave speaker separation on so the panel and the witness stay distinct.

  3. 3

Find and verify the passages you need

Jump to a timestamped exchange, check the wording against the audio, then use it in minutes or a review note.

Start with the hearing that still needs minutes and compare the draft with the recording. AI Hearing Transcript labels each speaker, keeps timestamps, and leaves the official record to the body that keeps it.

Frequently asked questions about AI Hearing Transcript

Is the result an official hearing record?

No. AI Hearing Transcript produces a working draft for staff, counsel, or a transcriptionist to review. It does not replace a reporter, a certified transcript, or the record a tribunal keeps. Quotations taken from the draft should be checked against the recording before they appear in minutes, a decision, or a published document.

Can panel members and witnesses be distinguished?

With speaker separation enabled, each voice is returned as its own labeled turn, so questions from the bench, answers from a witness, and statements from a representative stay apart. Labels can be renamed in the editor to a chair, a member, an applicant, or a witness, which makes a long session far easier to read.

How do timestamps help with minutes or an appeal?

A timestamp turns a quote into a locatable moment. Instead of relistening to a session to confirm that a condition was imposed at a particular point, a reviewer jumps to the time and checks the exact words. The same reference can be cited in a correction request or attached to an appeal submission.

What about applause, noise, or speakers off microphone?

Loud rooms, applause, and a speaker who turns away from the microphone all reduce accuracy. A hearing recorded through a room system usually fares better than a phone on a table. Passages that are unclear should be marked for human review rather than quoted, especially when the wording carries a legal consequence.

Is public comment transcribed as well?

Yes, provided the microphone picks it up and speaker separation is on. Public comment often involves many unfamiliar voices, so labels will be generic and may need renaming if particular speakers matter. A comment that is inaudible in the source will also be inaudible in the draft.

How long a hearing can be processed?

Speech up to three hours per file and 100MB per upload are supported. A full-day hearing therefore exceeds the single-file limit and should be split, usually at a recess or after a witness finishes. Splitting also lets staff begin reviewing the morning while the afternoon is still processing.

Can a closed or confidential hearing be uploaded?

The service sends audio to the speech recognition provider identified in the privacy notice and does not keep the uploaded audio after the job completes. A body that holds closed sessions should confirm that this processing satisfies its own confidentiality rules, and may transcribe only the portions on the public record.

What can be done with the draft afterwards?

The text can be corrected in the editor, then exported as plain text for minutes, a briefing note, or a case file, or as SRT when a recording will be published with captions. Speaker labels and timestamps remain in the export, so a reader can still see who spoke and when the exchange happened.
